The A List Continues with Alberta Ferretti Fall 2013 Collection

Alberta Ferretti-Always amazing, is bringing it this season with black and white, mixed in among jewel tones. Rich velvet fabrics and flowing organza, embroidered coats and I slightly medieval vibe. Love it!

Decoding The Trends A-Z Fall 2013

"A List"

Anna Sui-Ready To Wear Collection

Even though it's just beginning to get nice outside and the birds are singing, it's still chilly in Portland this week. This turned out to be a good thing because it got me to sit down and finally take a good look at the Fall 2013 collections. A friend of mine, who is also a designer and I were talking about how things are so exciting right now in fashion and design. With all of the variety,  it can be hard to edit and forecast ahead.  So many designers are showing these days, and in an, "anything and everything goes" period it can be difficult to keep up. I'm starting a little continuing analysis of just what the hell is going on out there in the modern, crazy fashion world, in the form of a good old fashioned A-Z list. These are my pics for the "A list".

Anna Sui, one of my longtime favorite sportswear designers rarely comes with a miss. This season is no exception. Hello Megan Draper, let's do lunch sometime. This is such a perfect nod to 60's glam. We will see more of this colored glasses trend in other shows as well. I kind of like it. What do you think?

Love the socks and shoes.

Green with envy for this furry coat.

Interesting shape on this giant necklace. Blue and purple. Awesome.

The separate hood looks modern. I can never get enough fuchsia and magenta. The boots make it practical.

A little 1930's mixed with mod, why not?

Evening Glam Look

Loving sheer white for Fall

To be continued.....

Kenneth Anderson Film Maker

Kenneth Anderson Film Maker, and person I know. if I had to describe him in a few words it would be genius indeed, terrible attitude, maybe a little, sweet for sure, a huge imagination!  Every once in a while, I have the pleasure of meeting someone that leaves a strong impression on me. Sometimes it's for the way they look, or one thing they say. Sometimes it's just the entire person as a whole. While I was in New York this last holiday, I met up with a friend, Ken, to discuss life over some drinks. I ended up coming away with a feeling of wanting to know more and see more of his work after hearing him talk about it. Recently his film has been submitted to the Vimeo film contest.  I think it's brilliant on many levels and I'm sure you'll find it inspiring too!

I asked Ken three random questions.  If you were an animal, what would you be? He said a bat.  If he could show anyone one of his films it would be David Lynch. The only thing he is afraid of is confrontation.
